Rev. Laura Sutherland attended Sancta Sophia Seminary in Tahlequah, OK from 1993 to 1995. Before reaching
ordination, she chose to withdraw from the program after having obtained lay minster and Practitioner status.
In 2000, Laura got the "tap on the shoulder" from spirit, telling her it was time to recommit and go the rest of the way. In the fall of 2000, Laura became ordained through the Universal Brotherhood Movement, Inc., an international, legal body that ordains individuals who have clearly stated via submitted thesis and personal interview, a desire for the ministry without becoming associated with a specific faith/religion.
In 1996 Laura became a certified wedding and event planner. While she does not do wedding coordinating anymore, this added skill set lends itself well to brides who hire her as their officiant!
Laura has done hundreds of sacred services of all kinds and has been told that her celebration of life services make all the difference for grieving families. She gets great fulfillment from the personalized, unique handling of memorials that are anything but traditional.
Rev. Laura has a unique, warm way of connecting with clients, enabling them to feel both completely safe and completely loved. She respects each one's individuality and brings that special element into every sacred ceremony she officiates - be it a wedding, memorial, pet memorial, house blessing or baby blessing.
